African Baskets

Each African basket in our selection is handcrafted by an African artist in ou network who makes their living from African basket weaving. We pride ourselves on our great relationships with our artists, and practice fair trade policies. In addition to paying full asking value for each product on our site, we contribute 4% of our profits to our network of artists to help improve their standard of living.

These African baskets are woven from local materials indigenous to Africa such as river grass or palm leaves, and are colored with natural dyes taken from local resources. Each basket varies in size, and is a completely original work – that means no one can ever have the same one! Our African baskets are great for holding fruit, potpourri, wash clothes, jewelry or odds and ends, or you can add gifts and give it to a friend as a one-of-a-kind African gift basket.
